Day 2: Gorilla Trekking in Volcanoes National Park
Start your day early with breakfast before heading to the park headquarters for a briefing on your gorilla trek. Accompanied by experienced guides and trackers, you will hike through dense forest trails to find a gorilla family. The trek may take 2 to 6 hours depending on the gorillas’ location, but the reward is an unforgettable hour observing these magnificent primates in their natural habitat. After the trek, return to your lodge for lunch and relaxation. The afternoon may include a cultural visit to Iby’Iwacu Cultural Village to experience local traditions, music, and dance.
